loose steering

my truck has a loose steering system. i have about a inch and a half of slack, in either direction. i personally love it. but anyone else who drives it says its seriously messed up.

Even though its kinda normal on older vehicles you might want to check it out just to be on the safe side and make sure the tie rods arent worn out or anything.

steering gears in these ford vehicles tend to get worn/slack with age. they are pretty common on lots of different fords and are easy to find used.

some easy, direct interchanges are : '91-'94 Ex, '83-'97 Ranger, '94-'97 Mazda p/u...................

steering gears from full size pickups will work, but gear ratios are different*
