I just put all new rotors and pads on my Mountaineer. After around a week, the front driverside wheel is covered in brake dust, the rest are pretty clean.

A friend said that it's caused from one of the brake caliper pins sticking....he said I need to pull it all apart and grease that pin.

Does that sound right?

Thanks

The caliper could possibly be sticking. You compressed the piston and maybe its stuck now?

Yes, that's what's wrong. One of my caliper bolt/pins was frozen on my last pad replacement, and I didn't notice it until the pad prematurely wore out on that side. It produced a ton of dust.

The slide bolt will be hard to remove, so work it back and forth slowly so as not to break it off inside the caliper. (Use PBB or WD-40) Then clean it with emory cloth, lube with caliper slide grease, and reinstall.
