loud clunking noise

i have a loud deep clunking noise right underneath the drivers foot area when i hit even the smallest of bumps. my x doesnt pull to either side while breaking or when i let go of the wheel.. still seems to do it when in 4x4 but not as bad.. ive had it up on a rack and wiggled everything and it seems to be tight.. HELP!!!!!
