Today I just noticed my 2018 sport has a very loud induction sounds when going over 2k rpm. Or at least it sounds like an induction sound. When it gets up above 4k rpm it starts to whine also. I got home and tried to recreated the sound in my garage, but it doesn’t seem to make the same noise when in park/neutral. Any ideas? It came out of nowhere and sounds pretty bad. The type of noise would lead me to believe it was turbo/air related, but the fact that it doesn’t make the name sound when not in gear has me puzzled.

Any advice/insight is appreciated. Thanks.

First, the throttle is governed to a bit over 3000rpm in P or N. Secondly, when driving, the engine is under load during acceleration, a much different "map" than when not under a load. As a result, things feel and sound differently between the two throttle-ups.

Understood, any idea what the noise could be?

I get the same sound, same conditions. I will clean my MAF and see if that stops it.
