My 92 Explorer had a kenwood HU in it that used to pop when I switched between sources. Someone broke into my car and stole the faceplate awhile back and I just had a JVC HU put in because it was the cheapest, installed at the audio place I went to. Now, every time I turn off the car, or turn the volume to 0 I get a loud pop. I'm not sure if it does it when I change sources because I haven't checked; but I have a few questions.
1. I'm not sure if the factory amp is bypassed, would that cause this issue? (also does anyone know a part # for a bypass harness I can still order)
2. If I wanted to replace the factory amp with a new aftermarket amp, what can I do to stop the pop? (assuming it is a probably with the amp)
3. If I do install an aftermarket amp can I just plug and play using the factory wires?
Thanks in advance fora any help. I tried using the search function for question 1 and couldn't find anything so I figured I might as well ask about 2 and 3 since I was starting a thread anyways.
