Hello,
Today I was sitting at a light when I was shocked to see that the check gage lamp was lit and the oil pressure gauge was pegged at the low end. I pulled over and checked the oil level, I was low 1 quart. I added it, waited about 10 minutes and then the check gage lamp went out and the oil pressure gauge was in the normal range.

Being one quart low I shouldn't have low oil pressure right?? Was it coincidence that the gauge read low pressure or is it that sensitive?? Since I bought this used I didn't know if it burned oil. Has anybody else's v8 burned oil with less than 50kmiles?
Thanks,
Gregg

A little oil burning is normal. When you change the oil some will break down or evaporate. (I'm sure there is a better term or explanation)

Check your oil at every tankful, this should give you a better idea of your problem. I use synthetic rated for 5000 miles I am usually a quart down by that time. 230k on 4.0

Yes, the check oil lamp is sensitive.
