Thought it might just be the lamps and changed them and nothing. After further investigation, fogs and tail lamps stopped working also. The high beams still work though. Checked all of the fuses and didn't see any blown fuses. Any ideas of what's going on?

You check the Relay box under beside your alternator

Not yet. I was trying to change the bank1 sensor1 o2 sensor so would this have something to do with it?

I just picked up the Chilton repair manual. Maybe I could scan a picture of a wiring diagram for you. What year/etc do you have?

97 Eddie Bauer V8 awd. Thanks for the help

I'm trying to find a diagram but am failing. I'd try double checking just in case you missed one. The box under the dashboard, the one on the right side of the engine bay, and I think, at least on my '96, there's one on the left side of the engine bay, which is what I believe ccm2001 was talking about.

As in the problem didn't occur until you messed with unplugging an old sensor and plugging a new one in?

Lamp out module. Go to Youtube and search explorer lamp out module

Does this still apply if you have a '96 XLT that didn't come with that little center console computer? I recently discovered that I lost my high beams. Every other light is fine though.

Still haven't gotten the old one out. I cut the old sensors wires so I could use a socket. I was thinking maybe the center console had something to do with it, so I plugged it back in, and now the message center has no power either.

I hope you only cut the wires to the sensor and not anything else.

I don't have that center console computer/message center in my '96 so I can't answer anything about that.

I'm not sure I'm following exactly what's going on.

Here's the part (edit- wont let me link, it's auto parts warehouse . com)
pop off the console, out with the old part, in with the new, unless you have soldering equipment.

Can't find anything in the manual about lamp outtage module though.

The problem was the white harness heading from the truck to the center console. Apparently it needs to be tightened down to make complete contact. Got the truck back with the new cat and o2 sensor and now it's idling like crap. Reset the computer and it's still doing it. Is it possible that the sensors were crossed when they were plugged back in? Does anyone have wiring that shows which harness goes to which connector?
