I have two vibration problems that have been a nuisance for years, that I've never been able to pin down. I've always had the 5.5 superlift on it, so I can't compare to stock, but this problem has happened throughout the rest of my modifications and maintenance, like jd extended arms and a complete brake overhaul, which has left me somewhat stumped.

Vehicle:
92 XLT 4x4 AT 5.5" Superlift, JD radius arms, f/r l/s, 4.56's, 33" Trxus MT's, etc.

I have a very low speed vibration, around 1-5mph, feels like I'm going over consecutive bumps in the road, stops if I speed up or slow down.

Second problem is the big one. When I'm coming to a stop, slowing down between 15-5 mph, i get this shudder that starts up front and moves through the whole vehicle. I can make it less intense by slowing erratically, but in normal driving it shakes through the whole vehicle. That one has got me completely, I can't figure it out at all.

I would appreciate any input anyone has on either of these problems, these have been plaguing me for a while. Thanks

Fordman, don't know if this pertains to your problems, but I too had a low speed shudder when turning. I changed the power steering fluid, and this cured it. If your shudder happens when making turns, it's worth a try.

I would also check the caliper bolts; if one is sticking, it would give uneven braking on that side, and possibly cause a low speed shudder.
Also lube the caliper slides.

Another thing: check the toe-in alignment. A toe-out condition might cause a low-speed vibration. The toe setting should be 0 to 1/8" toe in (for 4x4).

Good luck.
