With hood open I can hear what seems to be a low toned thump from my intake area. I can hear it through the intake past the filter and from the intake manifold. There is no consistency when the thump occurs.
Spent a couple of days with the intake manifold off cleaning my injectors and trying to sort out a misfire on #5. To be safe I went ahead and replaced all the injectors with a set I scored from Ebay for cheap. I cleaned them in my Ultrasonic cleaner. They all were very close in specs according to my multimeter.. I also went ahead and cleaned my intake manifold, MAF and throttle body.
Everything is back together now and I am still getting the low thump. During my work the battery was disconnected. I idled the truck for about 30 minutes then drove around the block a couple of times.
Don't know what to do next. I keep thinking it's detonation in my exhaust system or something? I plan to run my O2 sensors through my ultrasonic cleaner and reset the computer this weekend.
If you guys and gals have any suggestions, it would be appreciated.
I don't have any check engine codes.
Thanks
Vish
