Lower Ball Joints?

I am looking at replacing lower ball joints, among other parts on my 04 ST. I have found just the ball joints and the lower "A" arm assembly with ball joints. The maintenance manual says the ball joints can't be replaced and the assembly must be replaced.

So can the ball joints be removed from the assembly? Or am I stuck replacing the lower assembly?

You can replace either the ball joint or both. The main reason for replacing the lower control arms while doing balljoints is because the control arm bushings are bad. I would check those to see if they'll need replaced as well.
