- 07 explorer xlt
Hey guys, recently bought an 07 explorer xlt for my wife and ill have to admit that i think i got hosed on this deal. This thing has been a nightmare ever since we got it. IVe never been a ford person but her family has so i let her talk me into getting this for her. But anyway its too late now, so im stuck with it. But last week I took it to the local ford deal to get inspected and do their big 150 point inspection or whatever it is they do to basically overlook the whole vehicle that way i could repair what was needed. It passed inspection but the mechanic did tell me it looked like it was in a front end collision and that the bottom of the radiator is just hanging there and not supported. Not ever owning one of these vehicles or knowing someone that does i cant tell what parts im missing that is suppose to be supporting the lower part of the radiator. Any help, part #'s i could look up to compare, or pictures would be greatly appreciated.
I wish i would of looked at this vehicle more carefully before i bought it. But i bought it at night and i guess i could say it was an impaulse buy. Ive replaced an abs ring, rear wheel bearings, all of the exhaust from the cat back, and im pretty sure something is either wrong with the rear end or one of the axles shafts or both too. And ive only had this thing for about 3 weeks. Now looking closer to the front end i notice its missing the bumper valance, the grille is cracked, and apparently its missing parts to support the radiator, o and also whoever did the repair decided to repaint the bumper while still on the vehicle cause you can see the paint running all over the bottom of the bumper and its peeling right where the headlights and grille meet the bumper so they were even too lazt to pull the headlights out. So a little dissapointed at this point with this purchase, but with me having a little bit of mechanial bag ground and some autobody schooling im not totally worried about it cause I know i can get if fixed just need some help with what im missing. Ive tried looking at collision repair parts catalogs but it didnt really help cause i still cant really tell what its missing. Thanks guys
