If I replace my thermostat being 195 to 180 Will it affect my car, giving me codes or making it richer on fuel mixture or higher idle, temps here in the summer run 115 deg. any suggestions?

It usually has a negative effect, since the thermostat keeps the engine at 180, below operating temperature, and the engine systems keep operating as if the engine is still warming up.

Your best bet for better cooling is to keep up the maintenance on the cooling system (fresh coolant, distilled water, 50/50 mix, clean radiator, fan clutch and fan blade in good shape, etc. General maintenance like oil changes and tuneups along with taking care of any issues (parts, sensors) keeps things running as they should too. You could also add a transmision cooler or additional oil cooler to keep temps down as well.

I thought so, just wanted to know what other people thought of it.
