 Hey ya'll,
the "sport" is lowered 2". Does anyone have experience with what impact that has on wheel alighnment? I think the camber...?
Is there an alignment fix if the 2" lowering creates a problem?

You'll have the exact opposite issues as lifting 2": your camber will have the tops of the tires leaning inside / \ The same extreme angle camber bushings that guys who lift use will fix your problem along with a good alignment. Post some pics once you get her dropped.

hey little x...thanks for the input. I'll check with a local 4x4 shop that lifts the BIG trucks. They will be able to help I'm sure.
Now I'm working DJM to get the right length shocks...hopefully I can get some ride quality back!

Here is the pic...the "sport" is already lowered.

That needs the new sport trac's sport blue metallic paint

is your sport 2wd or 4wd? and where can i find the same lowering kit you have? i wanted to do a 2inch drop to mine front and back. mine is rwd and a 5 speed. im diggin the wheels as well.. i wanna do 03 cobras on mine.

Napa sells the alignment cams you need too. They are less expensive than the Moog. They are also the same for the f150. 2wd has more adjustability than the 4wd. I think the 3* cams for the 2wd adjust to 2.25* or something.

*cams?? but yeah i wanna do 2 1/2 inch drop ive decided.. where can i do that?

OK...thanks for the input and sorry for the delay.
My boss told me to STOP on the "sport" for a while. She said we have other priorities. For the life of me I don't know what they are...I guess I'll be told when it's time.
Anyway, the lowering kit is originally from STEEDA. The last time I spoke to them they had a couple of sets of the front springs left. They are not doing anything now for the 1st gens. I would call them and ask about ANY remaining stuff they might have.
The rear is dropped by using blocks...works good.
The "sport" is 2wd.
As far as Cobra wheels the only problem I have encountered is the back spacing or set back dimension. You might need a spacer to elimkinate contact with the frame. I have an 1/8" spacer.
The paint is going to be "SCSFID" (spray can satin finish in the driveway)
and will be a shade of black with silver highlights to match the Ford silver on the wheels. the "explorer" emblems will be silver in stead of chrome and blue oval will be black...not blue. I have seriously cosidered contacting one of the local "taggers" for some input on the paint scheme. You know a little urban ghetto influence.
I don't plan any further mods except inside...not sure what, I just want better tunes, communication and directions(GPS).
So far the interior is an adaptation of the '96 Mustang GT adjusted to fit the back stock explorer seats.
