Just wondering for you people with lowered explorers, if you felt a noticable difference after lowering. I planned on lowering about 1.5", but one of my friends with an explorer told me I really won't notice much, unless I lower it about 3" or more...is this true?

Your friend is mistaken, a 1 3/8 inch lowering, EE sway bars, and new shocks will make a world of difference on your handling. Tell your friend that Explorers aren't just any ordinary SUV.

:bounce:
Yea, i just ordered the same stuff they sell at Exploer Express. The 1 3/8" lowering, sway bars, inertia shocks, and that good stuff. I have heard that i makes an amazing difference in the handling. I can't wait for it to arrive.

well i already have a saleen sway bar, so all i need now is shocks and lowering. Would you guys reccomend the EE lowering kit, or just go to pepboys and get the stuff for cheap...?

Diablo....got some pics of your grill installed?
I have the same ride as you and would like to see how it looks on it. I plan on getting a billet grill, do you also have the insert? pics pics pics pics please :)

yea actually look under sport trucks forum i htink...there should be a thread called pics of my truck so far...youll find some in there :)...let me know what you think

OOOOKKK that's you....I saw them before now I know who you are.
Now, did you get the whole grill and paint the the silverish trim around it? If yes who painted it?
I can't see the lower insert but I can imagine how sweet it will look. As for installing it what exactly did you do :) Your instructions will be perfect since our rides are twins. Do you plan on getting the trim, flares and bumpers painted? I definatly want to.

What do you mean silverish trim? you mean the stock part? that comes black. As far as the billet insert, I bought that off ebay, and painted it myself with a spray can. Its starting to fade, so I should probably paint it again. I don't have the lower insert, but I might get one. As far as installation, its easy, it just attaches with tie straps...they go around the vertical pieces in the griller, and around the back of your factory grille. The directions are easy. Here is the email of the place where I bought it from, if you want to ask them about it: ted@wee1.com. Its not very much money compared to other ones out there, and I personally like it alot more. Id like to get the trim and fenders painted, its just the cost factor. To get a *good* paint job it would cost a few hundred, and i can't really afford it right now. Maybe sometime later I'll do that, but hopefully i will lower it and get new shocks first...

I'm talking about the part that goes around the lights. is that part of it or does just the grill part come? What finish did you buy?

Baked Black
Brushed Aluminum
Polished Aluminum

hmm...well thats how my stock grille is...if i know what you mean... Mine is black, not aluminum color. The grille i bought was polished aluminum... I painted it a gunmetal type color..

oh ok..i get your question...hehe sorry...no..it doesn't come with that part...its just a piece that fits in the opening on the grille...not much to it...i definatly reccomend painting it though...alot of people who have seen my truck like the grille alot better now that its painted...and for the money its definatly worth it..it adds alittle bit of style and makes it look alittle different, I like it. :)
