M.O.T and taxed for another year

X got through needing a ball joint to pass.I love this car when its working but we have had a bad year.Had to leave it at Fords for a week twice waiting for parts.But at the moment its magic!

Hurrah. Mine (a 97) just passed it's MOT. Legal motoring for another year and because it's pre 2001 - no worries on the road tax. Happy Days.

What do you mean when you say, "no worries on road tax as it is pre-2001"?? Does this mean I shouldn't be paying any road tax on my '94 when it is UK registered? {I have a US made '94 X} :exp:

no, he means that Gordon Brown's new tax increases on "chelsea tractors" doesn't apply to us as ours were all made turn of the century...

I believe the last increase prior to this budget only applied to the very newest 4x4s, like above 2005. After 2001 car tax was worked out on CO2 emissions. However they do play with the old system, usually by adding a 5 and taking off a 5 for under 1.5 L.

Sorry UKExploder - only pre-73 models are free on road-tax, but even then you must get an annual disc from the DVLA / Post Office. All I meant was that Mr Browns recent 4x4 tax doesn't affect me (pre 2001) - as Ian5700 and blueka noted.
