Are these transmissions interchangable? Evidentally my 02 has a m5d4 and it needs replacing. I have access to a m5od r-1 at a reasonable cost and would like to know if it would work. The ranger is a 2wd 2.3 liter base model. It has a bad 2nd gear syncro and I can get around that by double clutching, but downshifting to 2nd is impossible. Thanks in advance Jim
