M5OD shift knob medallion rattles

Drives me crazy. Anyone else deal with this? I hate to pry it up as I fear I will damage it. Any fixes?

Sure but how to get it under the medallion? (without damaging it)

Would a tooth pick fit under? Or can you use the tooth pick to place it around the edge?

Well I went nuclear on it. Pried it out with a knife. Didn't damage it too much. Think I'll glue it back in with black silicone.
