which would you run on 2 solo X 12s, and which would you sell? why?


this is for a DD so don't tell me to run 2 of either one of them on the subs- isn't necessary

imo the us amps is a much better amp but its current draw really isnt practical. I try to stay away from anything MA audio.

If those are your only two choices I'd reluctantly go with the MA I suppose.

but how does the power really stack up at 12 volts, at 14 volts?

also, i have two of the MAs (sort of, the one i got from you a while back is still in my posession even though i sold it months ago...) and it might make more sense to put both of them in one car together with something big.

i'm set on just running 3 thunder 942s in the explorer now though, and i dont' really have much of a use for anything bigger than two solo X's or similar.

i can do whatever- i just happen to have those two amps right now that i've gotten great deals on, and i happen to have a solo x 12" for the same reason. I'm not terribly attached to any of it- nor is it my first choice stuff.

Im a little biased towards memphis mojo 4kw's.

Probably the most reliable big power amp you can buy for daily driving, and if you by chance ever have problems with them the turnaround time from memphis is usually under 10 days. My other 3 mojos are arriving today ...its like Christmas! Oh wait it is

Also if you havent bought the solo X's yet they're coming out with a new style cone in 07 that will be debuted at CES. Much stronger with a different look to it. Id consider waiting a couple months to get them if you havent already

nah,i have one solo X that needs a recone (i got it for free)

If i'm buying new subs for any of these amps i'm buying DDs- however, i'm ok with a couple of solo X's since i'll have so little $ into them. I guess i could probably sell the solo X if i try to and pick up what i'd really want too.

in reality i should just wait until i get my new car (i'm happy with the audio in my current cars for now) to build up a system for it, but i just ahve all this stuff laying around and it's tempting- plus i'm not going to get a better deal than i got on any of the stuff i have now.

For the yellow kevlar cone, yeah you're lookin at about that.

I'm one of the rare anti-DD fans, when I order 15"s I want them, not to be given 12"s instead along with the bill. (they did get loud, 152 first time in a drop in setup on AC190) Thanks, I'll go with Fi car audio and stay there!

if you've blown up 9500s or 9900s with E or F motors while playing music you're really doing something wrong.

recone on that sub should be like $100 if you reuse the old cone

I was anti DD aswell. There are much better bang for your buck companies out there that have a more personable type customer service such as FI. BTL's were on my shortlist for woofers but I found some freshly reconed 9912s that I couldnt say no to. Im also hoping to make it to finals this year so the extra couple tenths of a db make a big difference to me. In my mind the 95 and 99s are the loudest street sub period.

Go with the US Amp. My AX3000DE's are bad and top notch. They produce unbelievable power. I am Running the amp around a little under half way on my 2006 x.. 12 and it is just ungodly.

both amps are officially for sale pending my buying a new vehicle- as is the solo X (with non cone).

the 9917's cone is completely destroyed- def. needs total replacement. I can pick up it up for around $150 though as it is, should i do it? The 9917 was blown completely in an extreme spl box powered by two of the 2000x's.

If it's still around (when i get my new car) i'll pair the 2000x with something (the fi stuff does look good). Unless you guys talk me into throwing something together in my audi just for fun in the meantime.

9917 shouldnt ever blow in an spl box off of that little power. it blew the cone apart even? for $150 definitely go for it. Even if you dont want to keep it you can spend the money on a recone then sell it for $600-800

i don't know the full story on the sub being blown- it is likely due to some sort of gross negligence on the part of the operator... i mean the kid sold me a working, cosmetically good 2000x for 175...
