Thanks Pughman- The couplers is what does it. I couldn't figure how you were making solid connections so easily. Is this the kind of pipe you can buy at Home Depot, and the couplers too. Did you fabricate any kind of brakets for support, or does it just lay in there? Thanks again

the 3" to 2" flexible Coupler goes on the throttle body , 2" side to the throttle body . then the 3" 90º Elbow goes on the 3" side of the 3" to 2" flexible Coupler , then there is a lingth of the strate 3" pipe cut to the size you need , i used the old tube as a gide , but yours might be a tad longer or shorter than mine. then goes on the 3" 45º Elbow, then a smaler lingth of the strate 3" pipe cut to your lingth. last is the 3" strate flexible Coupler that goes on the maf , it looks like this after it is all done..

no brakets if you use the stock air box , if you use a open air you will need some kind of braket

I did buy the iFab, but that was before I knew people were making their own using ABS drain pipe.

And just LOOKING at that pic...I can tell you it's NOT more difficult than it looks...

This site is for helping people, giving them new ideas, and sharing what you have found, done, or know. But appearantly some people need someone to hold their hand along the way.

Hehe i made mine out of ABS a couple years ago, holding up well still :D. I dont know what the big deal is moving the battery, i moved mine were the intake box used to be and secured it, MAFS wires reached just fine, in fact with a little slack. At first i had it going to the original position of the filter, but i decided to move it. I just got this air filter a couple months ago, twice as long as the old one :D. (Oh i was 17 when i made it :p)

Thanks Pughman- I'll post some pics of my attempt when its done. Your help is much appreciated. I added the oil breather similar to yours, but a few people have commented that it may not be good to do. Have you noticed anything with it. I don't even know what it really does, I thought it was more for looks. Thanks again.

Spdrcer- You've made your point. You're obviously an expert and dealing with a newbie and their questions is beyond your realm. Thanks

How did you secure your battery? Does it move around on you? Has the air filter tray been strong enough to hold the weight of the battery?

Lol i just used a bungee cord for now, works fine (I would get off my butt and make a real way to secure it but im not sure on keeping the battery there or not). The only problem with bungee cords is that they dont stay elastic for long, im about due for a new one. The air filter tray holds the battery just fine on mine, but this really isnt a great way to do it.

I made mine last summer when I was only 15 : ) It's probably one of the more easy things I've done to my truck. Not very difficult at all! Just use your head and you'll be fine! ; )

Hey Rhet- I got mine at Pep Boys. It was 50% off of reg $10 price.

Thanks on the little breather filter Pughman and calylove. In my corner of Missouri we have O'Reillys but no Pep Boys. I am going to do this this weekend I think! My intake tube is beginning to crack out and fall apart.

I started ine. I couldn't find Black ABS pipe, so I had to use regular white pvc. I bought plastic spray paint primer and a can of flat black high heat paint and I'm going to give it a go. I cut it to fit Thurs night, and sprayed the first two coats of primer. ALso, be carfeul cutting the pipe, I was using a small hack saw and the blade exploded into a milllion small pieces, one of which hit me square in the eye. It hurt so bad Thurs that I went in to see the doc, and I now am the proud or should I say embarassed, owner of a big scratch on my eye. They had to put a clear bandaid on my eye. Kind of like a contact. This thing hurts worse than anything I have ever had. So anyway, wear the stupid looking safety glasses, its a lot less stupid than having to go to the ER.

also.. I have some pretty sweet looking safety glasses.. lol.. I don't mind wearing them because they don't look bad at all.. They are basically *Oakley* frames with clear lenses.. better safe than sorry... if you have some good ones you don't mind wearing they are worth every penny you spend above a normal el cheapo pair. SAFETY FIRST!!!

worst i ever got was WD-40 and tranny fluid/tranny gunk in my eyes, was workin on the valve body when one of the bores i let slip, spring loaded, shot up the wd40/fluid mix into my eyes. 15 min of rinsing, even with soap lol, and i was good to go.

One time i was at a football game, and i was looking out, and all of a sudden i see a bug fly up, and watch as it lands right on my contact. Unfortuantely i blinked... lol
