alright, soo this is my first post on here, i have hopped around from TRS and such looking for information on rebuilding an engine for some power and then what im gonna need to do to the other components to complement that power.

i am planning on picking up a 600$ 4.0 81K miles to work on..get some forged pistons, slap a ported supercharger on it and possibly a cam and throw it in the 03 ranger that i have.

the only problem is, the transmission is not gonna hold the power from the engine, soo im wondering what i could do to it or if i would have to get a new tranny

any other easy up grades i could do to that engine would be helpful! :)

Welcome, and hunt Jake and James' Sport Explorer threads. They both have turbos on their SOHC trucks. James has a transplanted(high dollar) 5R55W trans, and Jake is working on getting his OEM 5R55E to survive as best as possible. They will be your best examples of what power can survive in these trucks. The only other option I can think of would be a transplanted 4R70W which like the 5R55W would require a stand alone controller. Regards,
