Well like i said in the flowmaster thread, i was reading my warranty and it says any type of lift kits would VOID my warranty unless it was done by the manufacturer, so what i would like to know is would my local ford dealership be able to install a ford body lift or suspension lift for me and if so how much do you think it would cost?

You still have a warranty? There's a law about this. The dealer can only void warranties if they can prove the mod caused the problem. Like if you installed bigger brake rotors & cailpers & had a problem with the brake system they would void it. Some dealers are mod friendly some are not. Some will not say a word, other will try to blame it on anything to get out of it. I don'k think a Ford dealer would install such things unless they were mod friendly.

There is no such thing as a Ford body/suspension lift. There's no way they'd install anything like that. But you shouldn't have any kind of warranty left at all unless you bought a helluva extended warranty.

Its a extended carmax warrenty which expires december 2005. I think i havent deicded if i wanna just go through with it now and get the 3in body lift or wait till the warranty expires and just save up some more money and get me a suspension lift.

Put the body lift on now, they can't void it unless the body falls off the frame or something happens that is the direct result of the body lift. You will likely have to install it yourself though, because even places like 4WP don't like to install body lifts.

Yeah i was planning on installing it myself, the only problem that i read about you guys having, that im not sure i would be able to do, is the thing about how ur gonna have to raise the bumpers or something to get rid of the gaps and make it look even, and also i dont see how i would be able to weld the brackets onto a grill guard to make it sit even with the new height of the truck.

Thats my concern about getting a body lift as well. I want to get a grill guard and body lift but I'm no welder so I'm SOL. Thats problem #1 not to mention that since I have no garage/driveway to actually do the install (i live in a townhouse) I'm relegated to stock stature  . It'd be nice if there were actually 4X4 shops in my area too, cuz I'd gladly pay for the service, but there is a serious West Coast bias going on here, lol :D. Whassup wit dat?

I don't weld either but I'm not letting that stop me. If you're truly interested, there are local community colleges that offer welding courses all the time. If not, lots of local auto shops do welding (for instance, my local Midas shop does). Now, not having a driveway or garage to work on/in is another story. However, there are quite a few Forum members in your area that might be willing to help you out by volunteering their driveway/garage. It never hurts to ask.

Yeah i also live in a townhouse and have nowhere to install this stuff at, and i really was looking forward to doing it myself, so im probaly gonna have to bring it to a 4x4 shop and let them do it and there is only like 2 where i live that i know of.
