Manual Hubs on an '03

I have seen Timken wheel bearings (new) on RockAuto.com for $150.00 each.

Oops - this price is for the live axle model. The hub models are about $225.00.

Good write up. Now I need to start saving parts and money. Keep us informed of any problems you encounter.

Oh, exactly what did you use off of the 98/99 drive axle? Is it worth getting everything or can I just get specific part?

Depending on whether or not you buy new of used wheel bearing will determine how much you buy. For me it was worth getting everything, as I got wheel bearings with fewer miles than mine and it also gave me the retaining clips which I will have to see if I can find the part number for.

Also, the seal depth was determined through getting the entire assembly. But I you use the measurements from the writeup you should be ok.

If you do not get the entire assembly, you will need CV and new wheel bearings along with the small seal parts plus the retaining rings.

So far so good with the axles, I went wheeling on Saturday; however, I just locked in the PVH hubs and every thing worked great. Now I just need to get the AVMS.

a ford dealer ship put the wrong bearing on my truck its an 03 and they put a 95 to 2000 wheel bearing on it.

This is a good thread Daniel, well done.

By chance has anyone run across a rebuilder of the 95-01 4WD/AWD hubs? I need to have a spare set made, with ARP studs in the process. Installing longer studs is not really feasible with the hub assembled. I'd like to buy new hubs and pay them to use better ARP studs to begin with. Thanks,

I think you can buy the bearing sets but they have a plastic race and you may have to order them by the 10,000

LOL, I need two... maybe four. Hmm,
