So I've been browsing the web off and on trying to look for a good solution to relocate the shifter (since I moved the engine/trans back a foot and towards the passenger's side). Problem is, I'd also like the shifter closer to the steering wheel for faster hand transitions between the steering wheel and the shifter - which means offsetting the shifter closer to the driver's side.

Anyways, I ran across this article on KitCarMag that might just have the solution. But I've been thinking about how the shifter moves in the pic and it looks like it either wont wont, or if it does work, there would be quite a bit of binding going on. So am I wrong cauz the person who designed/built the mechanism below actually says it works in this Cobra forum (post #9).

why not do an OEM style Cobra shifter ?? (ie Backwards)

That could work but the plane of the shift pattern is at like 20 degrees from vertical (wrist issues) - I want something thats a bit closer to horizontal.
