'90 bronco II 5 spd 4wd
I have a '90 bronco II 4wd 5 spd. This just started. Only occasionally while sitting still I have a problem getting it in gear. How do I check fluid level and what kind of fluid for a manual tranny ? Transfer case too ? thanks. jim

both the transfercase and the transmission use atf on the tranny there should be 2 large bolts on the drive rside of the transmission the upper one is the fill just pull the bolt and add fluid to it till it starts to dribble out. but your problem sounds like a bad slave cylinder or bad clutch master cylinder.

pwrranger88.....there are two different tranny's for the broncoII ...the mitsubishi takes 80 wt. gear oil according to my owners manuel and the mazda tranny takes ATF. I have the mitsu tranny in my bronco.....I'm the 3rd owner and I doubt that anyone else haS EVER BOTHERED TO CHECK, but either way i'll find out. This forum has sure been a huge help !!thanks.......
