Bronco II manual transmission comparison.

90 broncoII 5 spd how do you tell difference between mitsu or mazda tranny

The mitsu has a pan on the bottom... like an automatic would have; the mazda doesnt.

The mitsu-be-**** also has a removable bellhousing and the mazda has an integrated bellhousing.

ok, guys....I appriciate the input. Looks like I have the mitsush!ti tranny which according to my owners manual, takes 80 wt. gear oil whereas the mazda takes atf. thats what my specs indicate. any input on that ?
 






and which is considered the better of the two ?

And the Mitsushiti has a oil pan on the bottom where as the Mazda doesnt.

I thought I mentioned that.:rolleyes:


The Mazda is the better of the 2 transmissions.
