Manual Transmission - Reverse lights come on when in 5th gear.

When I shift into 5th gear my reverse lights come on. They still come on when in reverse too. All other gears are ok.

What would be the culprit of this? This has been going on ever since I had some transmission work done.

If you examine the transmission, near the top there's a couple wires going to the switch for the reverse lights. It's pretty simple and if I remember right it's just like a spring loaded metal ball. It's NOT the one with the speedo cable.

Don't know if that helps, but at least I can say I attempted to get you in the right direction
