1995 xlt limited
i have a 1995 exporer 4x4 xlt limited i got from my girlfriend. it has a whole list of problem. i use it mainy to move car parts or junkyard runs. its been haveing intermmting problems with starting. when you tune the key to the on position sometimes you dont hear the fuel pump prime. it usually takes a few mins i giggling the key and turning the steering wheel to finally kick in. the ignition switch was pretty junk anyways,. the key pulls out then in the on position, the key fob part spins freely ect. i check with autozone and a replacement switch is like $15. so i guess my first question is is this a conmmon problem. i need to change the switch anyways seeing that i just broke the only key. should i change out the ignition wire harness whic is also likr $15

i read the how to on here on changeing the fuel pump relay on the 94's. hopefully its simular on the 95's. i amn still searching the forum for alot of answers.

my next question is last week the tranny started slipping a little bit and we lost the speedometer. the tranny o/d light started flashing. the fluid was a little low so i added some. ive but 200 highway miles on it since so i dont think the tranny is dieing. i looked underneath in on the back part of the top of the tranny is a little black plastic stick hanging. i guess it broke off somewhew. il lget a picture of it today. andyone know what this is? is this a common problem easy fix? i was going to get a tranny gasket kit and clean out all the fulit and change the filter. but i dont want to do it if the tranny is junk
