Ordered left and right Moog UCA's from Rockauto last Wednesday. They sent me Cb8708 made by MAS Industries, the Moog was RK8708.
I was just wondering if anyone knows if MAS Industries relabels Moog parts? It's sealed off so no grease fitting can be put on. I emailed them about it, but just curious if anyone knew.
BTW this is a 98 Explorer, I ordered the one piece right side UCA. I hate the 2 piece.

Those are the part numbers, just different beginning letters "RK" on one like site, and "CB" on other which pointed me to MAS Industries. The RK80068 has a grease fitting, the CB8708 is sealed. So i thought there may have been a mix up. Hmm... I didn't know about premium "problem solver" or economy "R" series. I guess thats why the ones with problem solver in description were like 73 bucks.
Last time when I replaced my rangers, I went to NAPA; blue boot and seemed good quality. For less total money too 37 each, instead of 43 and 35 at rockauto.
I tried to Google and figure out if MAS industries was sold by others, or if they sold others products themselves to no avail.

Yeah, whenever I order parts even to fix an issue such as clunking ball joint like I have now, its a fist fight with the wife. Lol.
I already have napa lower ball joints so i figured I'd change out uppers at the same time. Later i will replace inner and out tie rods on both sides, then I can be worry free for a couple years.

On that ebay thing, some sellers sell it for 48.xx new, so I guess it's still cheaper from rock auto, now just to wait on a reply from rockauto to confirm it is the right part.
I just don't get why one has a grease fitting and other doesn't. I would of went to NAPA down the street if I knew that was the case. I just want to be able to add grease as it needs over time.

I will never compromise suspension, brakes, and steering parts, regardless of price.
My ST never leaves the pavement, I expect these parts to last at least 50K. GL

Ya I just got a job after a long run of living off VA money only, so I need some fixes for a little bit. My ball joints have been clunking for like 5k miles lol.
I too do not believe in buying cheap, if I have to though I usually try to buy the best of the cheapest if that makes sense.
Now to find that thread that shows how to best do lower ball joins without pulling drive shaft out.

The Moog PS are the only way to go for my $ (regardless of where you buy them). They come w/grease fittings and powdered metal "gusher" bearings, which allow the grease to pass through to the joint. If you grease them a couple of times a year they should last a lot longer than 50k. My Ex has 180k on its original sealed FOMOCO ball joints and I'm replacing them because the boots are shot and their starting to groan. I also have 3 other vehicles (w/160k+) on their original ball joints and tie rod ends, which I grease at lease twice a year. I'm ordering my stuff from RockAuto (Moog PS UCA's, Moog PS lower ball joints and Moog PS 7/16" bolt sway bar end-links) The UCA's were about $50 from RA. The delivered total was $185.91. I'll check my local NAPA but I'd be amazed if they're less than RA. I've already checked AZ, Advance and O'Reily's prices and they're all more $ than RA (even w/promo codes) and AZ doesn't carry Moog. My NAPA is always more expensive than anyone else, but they're privately owned (are all NAPA's?).

If there's any doubt about what RA sent you, call their 800#. I've always found their customer service to very good. 1-866-ROCKAUTO (762-5288)

All NAPA are privately owned I believe, if you go to napa site most are named like"jims garage" or something but the store still looks like NAPA.
185 hmm... Well I spent 127.xx total shipped, sucks because it arrived in 2 days, and I wanted to out them in today.
I don't believe any store can match Rockauto in price, but when I bought my UCA's for Ranger, I also bought Lower Ball joints and bushings for lower control arm. And inner an outer tie rods. I believe it was 2xx.xx total i don't remember exact. The owner called his repair shop and let me borrow the inner tie rid removal tool. He definitely made a return customer out of me.

That's nice that they let you borrow the inner tie rod tool, but all the discount auto part stores lend specialty tools for free (but you do need to leave a deposit, which is basically the price of the tool in case you never return it). In my town, NAPA's prices are just too high, plus they close at noon on Saturday and aren't even open on Sunday. It makes me wonder how they stay in business with an AutoZone, Advance, O'Reily's and a Car Quest w/in less than a mile of them. The only time I go to NAPA is if I need something weird that the discount stores don't carry (e.g. a quality intermittent toggle switch) but at $12 NAPA sure wasn't giving it away and if you want the weather-proof cover for the switch, it's another $6.

As far as having to wait 2 days to get your parts... well if you need it today, buy your parts locally. Let us know what RA tells you about the MAS parts they sent you.
