Well thanks to this site and the people who submitted "How to" I have been able to:
-Change out the lower thermostat housing
-Change out a broken drankshaft/jackshaft tensioner
-Change out a bad heater core (What a P.I.T.A. that was)
-Fixed a broken door handle
-Changed the keyless entry pad from the 1997 style to the push button style
-Changed out the drivers side door latch
-Fixed the door ajar switch
-Changed out the heater blower thermister
-Add a homelink to my over head console

Needless to say it has been a busy couple of months. All I have left to do is change out the carpet, fix the A/C and put in a new windshield. You might ask why I am doing all this work on an old EX. It runs like a champ, is paid for and get 22 mpg which is better them my Ranger.

Nice.

When did the crankshaft/jackshaft tensioner go (how many miles)? When it failed, did it cause any other damage?

And 22 mpgs?!?!? Nice. I get 16 average. My last tank was 18 something. And I don't hot rod it.

291k...wow. Congrats.

Glad to see you were able to get so much done.

Good luck getting another 200+ out of it :)

The first tensioner went out at about 80 to 90,000. They replaced it with the same type that was orignally installed. The replacement one I put in this time is a bit longer and has 6 leafs in it instaed 3.

I forgot to add that I also fixed the burned out gauge cluster bulbs and I also fixed the seat lever. For the seat fix instead of using the angle bracket that someone used I used a piece of 1/4 x1/4 square bar stock. I welded it to the broken lever bracket and ran it out the bottom. This way I don't have to worry about it breaking again.
