Was it the 6 CYL?Originally posted by blichy
They're great. We had one at work a month ago, and it looked really nice (dark blue, sprot package, 5-speed...).

Yep, basically loaded. It was in for display (along with about a dozen other new cars and trucks) when we had analysts in for a state of the business presentation, so it wasn't something we could drive around in.

did anyone open it up at all, how was the performance?
Duratec's have one mean growl thats for sure, how'd you like that quote from Car and Driver above? Thought you would like that from your other post on that one thread with you, Stephen and I on all the cars......Originally posted by Majisto
That Duratec line of engines is going to be Ford's saving grace in the car market. The 6's 2.3 Liter Duratec I-4 (Yes it's based on the Ranger) is supposedly one of the most high-tech engiens available, and has lots of room for modifications, just like its big V-6 brother. I actually may think of trading in the Taurus for a 6![]()
Heh well when I drove a Taurus Duratec, I thought they had mistakingly given me a SHO model insteadOriginally posted by SaleenEXP

Or you could just wait for the new Taurus which will use a 3.5 Duratec V6 with around 250hp and about the same tq. They need to throw that engine in the Escape and the Mazda 6...the 6 would especially haul some azz with 3.5 Duratec.
