Do I need to measure the current of my brown wire to verify the operation of my transfer case system? Or will measuring the voltage tell me what I need to know?

In park 1.1 volts in A4WD and 2.5 volts in 4WD high. Both jump to 12.6 volts when I step on the gas (with the truck on blocks).

If I need to measure the current, I assume I need to cut the brown wire and put my amp meter between the two. Can this be done anywhere after the 4X4CM?

This is related to my thread 3rd Gen 4x4 not engaging, lights function. Looking for ideas.

Thanks,

Jonathan
