So I recently picked up a bug guard in the Junk Yard for REAL cheap, I cleaned it up, and noticed a few small scratches, and that is is sort of weathered, I was wondering if a quick application of Meguiars Ultimate Compound would help, or make things worse, I am afraid of scratching the plastic more, and making it worse. I have seen what this stuff does to old scratched paint though, so I know it kicks butt.

some 3000 grit wetsand paper and a good wax on top of that will make it look like new again ,,
put water in a small bucket,,, add some dishsoap,,put the sand paper in it ,get it real wet,, sand till it feels smooth and the resistance goes away ,make sure the paper stays wet by dunking it alot or use a sponge to keep adding water, than wash it real good, apply the wax pretty good, and shine till it looks like new ,,,

I am sort of hesitant on wet sanding it, it is plastic after all. I really don't have the feel for it. I might try it though...

just cause it's plastic doesn't mean anything,, i put the wetsand to the clear on my bass boat,, it came out awesome,,

DAMN! I think you sold me on that. Plus if I can get down the technique on this, my black Explorer may be next, which it is really bad right now.

Maybe try this. I use it on my headlights that are starting to loose it's clearcoat. Makes them almost perfectly clear. I follow it up with some coats of wax.

Well today I was painting all day, and finally putting on stuff I got from the junk yards, I was sort of tired of wet sanding, I did my grill, and tail lights today, so I decided to try the Ultimate compound, and good news, it works awesome! The darn thing looks as good as new! I may still wet sand it to get the deeper scratches out, but for now I am pretty happy with the results, I really couldn't tell how cloudy it was until I polished it up real nice.
