Mercon V for 97' 5.0 AWD Transfercase Ok?!?

I bought 3 quarts...is merc V going to be ok for the TC?

Ive heard conflicting things, some people say its fine to use mercon v in it but others say it can cause problems later on and you should use dexIII/M, personally i used the dexIII/ Although i doubt mercon v would be a problem since its used in the trans anyways

i'd stick with merc/dexIII for the T/C

My 98 5.0L V8 calls out Motorcraft MERCON ATF for the transfer case. I used left over Mercon v about two years ago and nothing happened.
