MFT update question around versions

I just bought a 2012 Ford Explorer XLT that has MFT. No Navigation option. I ran diagnostics and the MFT seems to be V2.11 according to the CCPU 4.23.11134_PRODUCT.

I know that version 3.8 just came out and I downloaded it from my Ford account.

However, in reading around here it sounds like 3.8 is pretty flaky and my understanding is that 3.6.2 is/was one of the most stable versions to come out.

Should I update to 3.8 or should I look around for 3.6.2?

I'd stay with 2.11 until you find issues you can't deal with. It was one of the better versions as far as features. Had some glitchiness but was tolerable, as far as I remember. I had it on my 2012 Focus. I've not had any worse issues with 3.8, than previous versions, but we don't ask it to do too much on my wife's Explorer.

Welcome to the Forum.
In regards to 3.8, I have had absolutely no problems with it but then I don't use it for much other than listening to the radio and navigation and a few phone calls at times. It seems that the more you ask it to do the more likely that you will encounter some issues. This seems to apply across all software versions for MFT.
