the mickey thompson website tells me that 29x11.50 will fit on my '96 exlplorer...that true?

The stock tire size is 29" tall if you have the 15" rims and prolly a little larger if you have the 16". You can usually fit up to a 31" tire without rubbing problems. Just make sure your rim is wide enough for a tire thats 11.5". I would think you would need at least a 8" wide rim.
