Don't have the problems I'm seeing in the rest of the posts but the mirror adjust switch does not work. Is there a separate fuse for the mirror adjust or should I just pull the door panel and start looking for a broken wire?

Vehicle is a 2003 Explorer, Eddie Bauer edition. I did manage to find the fuse for the mirror adjust and it checks just fine. Guess the next step is to pull the door panel and start looking at the wires. That won't happen for a while as it is currently 20 degrees here in Indiana. Have to save this for a Spring project.

I'll post up some good info when I get home tonight!!

Hello,
My Son has a 2003 explorer and the Drivers side mirror was broken. I checked the mirror
switch and neither the drivers side or the passenger side worked. I took the door panel off (very easy) 3 screws ( 2 in the bottom and one in the middle) and the plug in connector wasn't plugged into the switch! Plugged it in and they both worked. I've read some posts where they talk about wires not being grounded. Good luck!

Your problem is broken wire(s) in the rubber hose thing that contains all the wires, located between the body and the door. Open the door, locate the rubber thing containing the bundle of wire, side it to one side or the other, look closely at each wire, chances are at least one is broken and some may have the coating broken off. Not a hard fix, but if the wires are broken into, it's hard to use a butt connector, esp. in the tight location between the door and body, so you may have to run a new wire from one direction or the other then use the butt connector leaving slack in the wire, then pull the wire(s) back in place.
