I just had a couple of quick questons. First, are there any lube points for the front suspension? I have a 94 4x4 Sport. I have been told that the TTB has these but I haven't been able to find them myself. Also, I was considering purchasing a computer chip and found that James duff claims an increase of 45lb ft of torque! Other brands like hypertech seemed much lower than that. Does anybody have the Duff chip and does it really make that much of a difference? Thanks for the help.

Hi, do you have a haynes manual? that would be a good place to check. I think all there is to lube is the steering linkage via those grease "sirks" or whatever they're called. everything else is "lubed for life" but there are no TTB on a '94. As far as the power increase with the chip you usually have to have other mods like exhaust, intake to help with the increased fuel, rpms, tranny shift points, etc. hope this helps.

Since we are asking questions in here ig ot one... Does a explorer 4-door or explorer sport trac 2002 grill fit a explore sport 2-dr 2002 ?

Thanks, I will check out the Haynes manual. Are you sure about the TTB on a 94?? They changed to the conventional IFS in 95. Thanks for the reply though!

but there are no TTB on a '94

Yes 94 does have TTB that is the last year they made it. the IFS started in 95

umm.. 94 has twin i-beam suspension. 95 has IFS with torsion bars. :(

umm....TTB stands for Twin Traction Beam. And as I already stated that the 95 plus have IFS.

Bump

What is the clear answer to the year TTB question?

Now I'm confused

What is the clear answer to the year TTB question?

TTB = Twin Traction Beam... this was on the 91-94 explores, they also have Radius arms and coil springs

IFS = Independent Front Suspension.... 95 and up explorers. No coils springs or Raduis arms, But Torsion Bars instead.

hope that helps

Ryan

That was the quick version. If someone really wants to go in depth about it ..... have at it

Twin I Beam is 2 wheel drives.

Twin Traction Beam is 4 wheel drives.

SLA with torsion bars is what is on 95+ whether they are 4x4 or 4x2.

Both forms of suspension are a form of IFS beleive it or not.

Edit: Ryan or Jason,

Could you search "Forum Dictionary" and throw those in, and whatever else you have.

Thanks,

Robb

I was confused on the whole TTB thing. What I gathered from this site was that TTB had something to do with Torsion Twist bar or something like that. But hey sometimes it takes instances like this to learn what it means. Anyway, it's no biggie. :) :)
