Hey guys, well my girlfriend was driving home today and the service engine soon light came on. She brought it to Autozone and they said the code is a misfire on cylinder 9. I had new spark plugs installed about 2 months ago. And from what I read the 4.6 V-8 does not have spark plug wires. So any ideas? What should I start with first? BTW it drives the same from what I could tell.

Thanks!!!

Shane

Do you know what the code number was? There is no cylinder number 9 on this vehicle, is that a typo?

Thats what the autozone guy said. No my girlfriend did not get the code.

Is the check engine light still on? I would go back and ask them to check the codes again, as long as they didn't erase them.

well i just reset the computer and drove it around. Now there is no service engine soon light.

hasn't come on again after my drive around the block. Ill drive it around again tomorrow and see if it comes back. thanks for the replys!

I've always wondered how a 6.8lt V10 would go in a 3rd gen...

Haha I like the idea of seeing the V10 in an explorer. My dads got an 08 F550 V10 and that motors a beast. She just dont like to see over 4500RPM
