2020 Explorer Platinum
I just purchased a 2020 Explorer Platinum. It was my understanding that adaptive headlights were included on the Platinum trim. However, They seem to be missing on mine. I do not see the self test occur on startup and the option to turn off the system is missing from the Vehicle Lighting settings menu. BTW, I have the headlights set to auto. On the second day of driving it, I had an error message about the Headlamp System pop up on the instrument cluster. I clicked ok and It went away and hasn’t come back. The manual says this message is for a problem with the adaptive headlamp system. Does anyone have any ideas why my vehicle’s AFS seems to be MIA except for the error message?

Thanks

This may be a long shot but have you checked fuse #21 in the engine bay fuse box? Do you have a 10A fuse there?
Yes, the Platinum has Adaptive Headlamps as a standard feature.

Hi Peter, Thanks. No, I haven’t checked. I’ve only had it for 2 days, but I’ll try and check this evening.

The headlights function normally in every other way. Would Sync actually recognize a blown fuse and remove setting from menu?

I wondered about that as well. I would think the answer would be NO. I was just curious if the fuse was also MIA. If so, it would appear that somehow the Adaptive Headlamp feature wasn't installed.
