Hello all. I just got a 1995 Explorer 4x4 XLT that has seen a better day. When I got it day before yesterday the starter was shot. Pulled it out and broke the top bolt. Had it tested today and it is bad. Waiting for the new one, well the funds to buy the new one. There was a light switch attached to wires going from the battery to a push button start because the ignition had been broken out. Undid all the aftermarket alarm system and the wires running everywhere for whatever. So now it is stock again and we go from there. If you look at the pictures you will see what my questions are. In the one pic there is a clip with nothing plugged into it just above the hood release and to the right. Do you know what plugs in there? And if you look at the place where the ignition switch goes, is there anything missing from that area? It is just a hole and there is a black wire with a broken clip dangling there. Also does anyone have an ignition switch with key, the kick panel that covers the area below the steering wheel and the plastic that goes on top of the column? The bottom piece is still there. I do need a starter but by the time shipping gets added in it would probably cost as much as a used one here. About 45.
Thank you all for your help. As it happens I need help with one more thing. How do I post pics? lol

Wow, this is something special here. A forum where nobody wants to help? Not a one post to help a guy out? That's fine. I dug a little deeper and got the Ford dealer involved so thanks guys for saving me all that time and money.

Without pictures no one can answer your questions. To post pictures, without being an Elite Member, you will need to upload your pics to something like photobucket (it's free), copy the IMG and paste them into your posting.

140 people have read your thread. Like me they're probably scratching their heads.
