Anyone used Monroe Reflex shocks for towing on their 91-94 Explorer? If so, I am interested in your evaluation of them when pulling a 3500 lb trailer at highway speeds. Good chasis control and tire to road contact?Would you opt for Bilsteins? Thanks Mike

I haven't compared them to Bilsteins, but I do have the Reflex shocks and they are pretty stiff, like any high pressure gas shock. I recently had the swaybars disconnected before an offroad trip and actually ended up leaving them disconnected because the ride was smoother and the body roll didn't increase too much. I would definitely recommend them. I have heard that the Gabriel VST were the same shock as the Reflex without the Monroe name. My dad was suckered by the NAPA (I think thats where he got them) salesman, because I told him to get the Gabriels instead of Monroe, but he likes NAPA apparently and the salesguy told him Monroe. Eitherway, yes they would be good for towing.

Byrd 91: How do the Reflexes do on the road? Do they stop road drift and does your Explorer maintain " on center" steering at highway speeds with Reflexes? thanks Mike
