Hey, I'm looking to get some fender flares after I get my 35's. I will need to trim the wheel wells out. Is there a make who makes them biggerslightly?

I heard that Bushwacker cut-outs are that way, but I can't seem to find a store that sells them for the first generation. Can someone please tell me where I can find some.

Thanks!!

Also, does anyone have pics of them on their X?

I have the 4 1/2 in. wide J.C.Whiney hybrid specials on mine.

80 some bux for enough to do all for wheel wells and have some pieces left over for insulating stuff on the X (REALLY heavy gauge flexible rubber).

Couldn't afford 350bux for something that might get ripped off on the trail.

My tires rooster-tail water in the rain really bad without them. Got a warning from a state trooper about it. He WAS smiling and said he wished he had brought his digital camera to work that day! ;)

I like what I bought. nuff said.

The Bushwacker cut-out flares are only made for the rangers and do not fit the explorers as the fenders are different. Unless you make something yourself the only other option is Fibergalss. I cover 35x12.50s on 17x10 wheels with 6" of lift and have room to flex and steer without rubbing.

Oh, does anyone have any pics? JamminG4Jim, do you? I am on a limited budget too, so that might work.

Not the best pic. I'll try to find some better ones tomorrow, ok?

Fender Flares wanted

Here's a thread that I posted a few pics of my flares. I'll go take some pics of the front here in a sec. I'd sell my set of 4 for a 4door for $100 plus shipping. The left rear is slightly damaged. You can see it in that thread. I'll explain more when I post the next set of pics.

How hard was it to install them? Do they seem pretty sturdy/good quality?

Would those be big enough for 35/12.5?

Sorry for so many questions, but better to get it right the first time.:D

They come with a 1 in. lip that goes under the fender edge. Installing them was a snap. They DID like to curl inward some on the lower edges of the wheel well, so I trimmed mine up with a tin snips. Not the prettiest thing on the block, but functionable.

I bought the 4.5in one's with the expressed intention of them fitting over 35/12.5's, which will be my next tire upgrade after I destroy my 33" Xterrains (directional tires are goofy:()...

Hope this helps.

Here's some more pics. As you can see they are still in the plastic. I took the drivers side out just now to take a better pic. They have two inches of extra tire coverage. They cover my 35x12.50R17 on a 10" wheel in the rears as seen in the pics. Would be just fine on the front as well. I had a set on my other X with 33x12.50's on a 10" wheel as well.

Oops...Here's the pics, passenger front.

They are very easy to install. Just drill small holes where the flare is pre-drilled. I only have the hareware for the rears. I just bought some screws from the local hardware store.

I was having a hard time attaching pics with a reply so I uploaded to my photo gallery.

Great! Thanks for your help. Notajeep, would those still work, if you were to trim the fenders a little? pm sent.

I think they would still work, might trip the flares a little and/or heat them up and bend back to match the trimming. PM'd back:D

I just got a front set off of a 98 xlt for 60 bucks. I have a 91 but, I put them up to my fenders and they fit. If all else fails, go junkin.
