Does it make the sound only while moving or while standing still also?

Why type with such large letters?

I'm sorry somebody changed my post it makes this noise all time gets faster as you accelerate

bump please somebody help me :-(

where should i. start??

When you open the hood up you cant tell where the sound is coming from at all? Does it sound like its coming from the engine?

Ha ha ha ha!!! :D :D :D :D

It will be all better tomorrow!

pretty damn funny :-)

Is said noise related proportionally to mechanical combustion device speed or vehicle speed?

pizza pizza pizza pizza

yeah its deff t.h.e motor sounds like t.h.e middle maybe t.h.e front idk? it speeds up as you accelerate and slows down when you decelerate took off t.h.e serpentine belt to see if it was a tensioner problem but it still s.o.u.n.d.s. like t.h.e. same thing so I ruled that out i just need to know if it is a chain issue or not i really don't think its piston rods or anything like that at least i hope not if it is t.h.e chain guides is t.h.e.r. a.n.y. hope for my motor with out pulling t.h.e thing out or should i buy a 2003 sohc and hope for t.h.e. best? thank you for t.h.e help:)

I can't advise you on that one. I've never heard t.h.e. chains rattle, knock on wood!

so is t.h.e.r.e. hope if it is t.h.e chain and or tensioner?

As I understand it, timing chains are still a major repair/PITA.

Check to make sure you don't have a loose spark plug wire. I had one loose once and I was fearing the noise it was making was the dreaded timing chain problem.

loose spark plug wire would be more of a tick tick sound, not a clack. ;-)

Are you sure your oil level is fine? Did you check with the dipstick?

yes checked the oil level its fine great oil press to power seams fine took off the serpentine belt noise was still there also disconnected the plug wires one by one also didn't affect it so i think that rules out a bearing and or a connecting rod?

get out a camera and make a vid and throw it up on youtube. cant hurt.
