motor swap question

Need to sawp a motor in a 97 EX,5.0...Need to know if it matters if the exhaust manifold has the EGR hole or not....The parts place needs to know

Couldnt I just swap whatever manifold I need onto it??

Or is there a differance in the motor/computer or something??

Yes. It matters.

Some 1997's had External EGR.....meaning there is a metal tube going from the passenger side exhaust manifold to the Intake/throttle body Elbow.

While others in 1997 had an Internal EGR, meaning there is a port in the intake to allow some Exhaust Gases back into the Intake tract to ensure a complete burn.

The computers are also obviously different for each motor.
