 i have a 2001 tl1000r v-twin superbike , so could be your rectifier might be bad because when it is sitting there its not charging that much but when you rev it up it starts to charge more? because the rectifier breaks down the juice from the stator so your bike can use it but only idea i have

or there could be a short to because you start to get more vibrations when you start to rev it up and maybe it shorts out

This thread actually belongs in the "all other makes and models", so I am moving it. Please, in the future only post things related to the basic Explorer.

I have a 1980 GS 1000 (Basically the same bike) and it is starting to have some weird electrical problems as well. Mine are shorts/phantom grounds. yours sounds like the rectifier.

Sounds like the rectifier to me too. Should be about $100-130 for a new rectifier/regulator.

well i bought one on the 10th of february, just waiting on it. Hopefully that will solve my problems, i missing some great riding wheather here in Fl.

Do you have a reserve gas tank?
