03 Mountaineer
Hi

This is not the usual shudder I've been reading about. I have an 03 Mountaineer with the V6 and 64k miles. I've recently noticed a couple of times a shudder or shiver. The engine is cold, within a half mile of home, the weather is cold, I live in the northeast, it is not while shifting. Going about 30, straight, constant speed, it shivers. It reminds me of when you step outside in the cold, sometimes you give a little shiver and say "damn it's cold". It's that quick, only does it once. First time I thought/hoped that maybe I ran over a stick or something. Any ideas? Thanks for your help.

Welcome to this forum! The solenoid blocks tend to act up around 60k miles on these vehicles. You might be able to save it by changing the filter, and the fluid. A new tune for the PCM is also a good idea after you replace the filter, and fluid.
