Whats up everyone,

So i finally sold my big box because I need the cargo space for when i have gigs with my band ( drums) I installed a JL stealth enclosure with a 10 inch w0 woofer. I bought a jl e class e6450 to power the entire system. I love this amp , but i need to find a place to mount it so its not in the way , and wont get damaged by me loading gear in and out. the only place where there seems to be space is beind the rear speaker pod. Has anyone done this before? any tips , ideas ? Other suggestions ?

Thanks!

I have two amps in there, but no way could I get a speaker in there too... Maybe if you mounted the amp over the wheel well, thats where one of mine is...

What about under the rear seat(s)?

alright I got it , I mounted it with a piece of wood behind the rear speaker pod. I was just worried it wouldnt fit. Actually came out nicely ! now i need to install some fans back there....anyone have any advice with this?

check out my thread on fans, just search "computer fan" or something, its like a week old

i am planning on installing a fan on the left side of the trunk to cool an amp i am installing behind where the jack is now, it seems pretty simple really, but for you it sounds like you will need to cut a hole in the trim, hope you don't mind that :( (i am putting a custom box i am building in front of the jack compartment and it will leave about 3 inches at the rear of the panel to stick a fan attached to a piece of wood, that way i don't have to cut the panel :) )

Run it without a fan for now. If the amp doesn't overheat and shut off you don't need a fan. I had intake and exhaust fans on my amp rack for awhile.... noise from them was unbearable at low volumes. Took them out and my amps don't overheat....

Cool , I am gonna try without the fan... hopefully it will be doable .. I really love this jl amp!

you probably won't need a fan in this case.

however, just because it isn't overheating and going into protection doesn't mean you couldn't benefit from it running a bit colder.
