Rear speaker mounting on a 97 ramger short cab

Hi,
Has anyone managed or tried to improve the quality of the sound in a ranger short cab? The rear speaker mounts are really flimsy and there is air leakage all over the place....

Even without flimsy mounts and air leakage, those speakers are almost useless, IMO. They are buried by the seats.

Do you have the stock speakers still, or have you upgraded?

I am in the process of upgrading... I do not think I am going to invest too much time and money in the rear speakers
