I have a pretty big CB radio, Cobra 148 GTL. I don't have a clue as to where I can install this radio in a convenient location. Any suggestions much appreciated.

I'd like tot welcome you to the site. You'll find anything and everything you need all right here.

There are a few places to mount a CB. You could take out the ashtray and part of the dash and mount it there. You could also make somesort of "box" to mount it in. Here is a shot from one of the members and where they've got theirs

I never did find a good spot to mount my Uniden PC76 XLW. It's a full size chassis as well, and there is no good out of the way spot in the 95+. I contemplated mounting it n the center console where the trip computer goes on the eddie bauers, but that's a squeeze to get it to sit down in there far enough. Never had the heart to cut into it, I guess.

I usually use my CB to annoy people with a loudspeaker, but i did put it under the drivers side seat. I have had only a few problems with this though, but everything else is awsome.

1. I can't see what channel i'm on. So to fix this, get with your friend and turn them both on to the same channel AHEAD of time i.e. before you get into the car.

2. It was really hard to plug in the PA and power supply wires.

in the dash

I have mine where the ashtray was as well. If your a non-smoker, this is a great place. It's a full size cobra 18 ultra wx. I'll send pics if you want. I love it there because if looks stock.

He's got a 98 though guys. We don't have ashtrays to get rid of. I wish we did so we would have somewhere to mount our dang CB's.

I stuff mine between the passenger seat and the center console. It seems to stay there pretty well as long as the seat isn't all the way back, and you aren't bouncing around too bad 4x4ing. I'm currently looking for a smaller one to permanently mount somewhere (haven't figured out where).
