So I just bought a mounty a few days ago and I knew the e-brake didnt work and I was riding around town when the (!)BRAKE light lit up on the dash. I just thought the ebrake pedal sensor was acting goofy then my pedal started getting mushy. Then It was getting to the floor, At that point, I knew what happened. I turned around drove it to the park that was on the way home and dropped it into 1st and managed to park it safely. I walked home and got my brake fluid, filled that puppy up and limped her the rest of the way.
Now I can have someone press the pedal and I can see where it's spraying out of. It' coming out of the Right rear line on top of the right side of the axle btw.
My question is, I've never had to do a brake line before. How do you buy them, are they pre bent? If not how do you bend them without putting a kink in it?? What happens if you make a mistake in the bend? I've done alot of work on my cars and trucks. Including doing a tranny in a SHO ( 4 times) UGH. But a brake line failure is new to me. If it's not worth my trouble to do this and you think I should take it to a shop, how much should I expect to shell out to them?
